Diesel Pricing in Pakistan Crisis: Oil Companies Raise Concerns

Diesel pricing in Pakistan has come under serious concern as oil companies warn that recent changes may disrupt the country’s fuel supply system.

Oil companies have raised strong objections to the new high-speed diesel pricing formula. They have also protested against pending payments of Rs128 billion.

The Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC) has expressed deep concern over delays in price differential claims. These payments remain unpaid for a long time, which has increased financial pressure on companies.

In a letter sent on April 13, 2026, to Federal Energy Minister Ali Pervaiz Malik, the council explained the issue in detail. It said that two major problems are happening at the same time.

First, the government has changed the method of diesel price in Pakistan today calculation. Second, authorities have delayed regulatory payments. These issues are creating heavy financial pressure on oil marketing companies.
