Trump Leaves for Japan Before Meeting Chinese President

U.S. President Donald Trump leaves for Japan before meeting Chinese President Xi Jinping. His visit aims to strengthen trade, investment, and defense ties across Asia.

Trump will meet Japan’s Emperor Naruhito and the newly elected female Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi in Tokyo. This is part of Trump’s longest foreign tour, focused on boosting economic and defense cooperation in the region.

During his stay in Malaysia, Trump monitored the ceasefire agreement between Thailand and Cambodia and announced several trade deals. His Asian tour will end in South Korea, where he will hold a summit with President Xi Jinping. Both leaders will try to prevent a new trade conflict between the world’s two biggest economies.

Before leaving Malaysia, Trump posted on Truth Social, saying, “Malaysia is a wonderful and dynamic country. We signed major trade and rare earth agreements. Most importantly, peace between Thailand and Cambodia — no more war! Millions of lives saved. Now heading to Japan!”

Prime Minister Takaichi spoke with Trump by phone earlier, calling the U.S.-Japan alliance her top priority. In Tokyo, thousands of police officers have been deployed to ensure Trump’s security during his visit.

The visit highlights growing cooperation between the U.S. and its Asian partners, with hopes of building stability and economic growth in the region.

In summary, Trump leaves for Japan before meeting Chinese President to strengthen trade, peace, and partnerships across Asia — a step toward a more stable global economy.
