In Karol Jungle, the Forest Department, school students, volunteers, and staff planted local trees such as peepal, neem, and jamun on 14 acres of land.
Trees naturally absorb carbon dioxide and release oxygen. They also help reduce smog particles, cool the environment, improve rainfall, and prevent soil erosion.
Moreover, planting trees is a Sunnah of the Prophet (PBUH) and a continuous charity (Sadaqah Jariyah) that benefits future generations.
Minister Maryam Aurangzeb added that this tree plantation campaign has become a great example of environmental protection, public health, social unity, and Islamic values.
The ongoing efforts for tree plantation in Lahore reflect a strong public commitment to creating a cleaner and greener future.
