Snowfall in Upper Areas Intensifies Cold Across Pakistan
Snowfall in upper areas has intensified cold across Pakistan, while tourists enjoy winter scenes in popular hill stations. It increased cold weather, and fresh snow in the Queen of Hills brought joy to tourists.
Mountains in Galiyat wore a white blanket. Snow depth reached 1.5 to 2 feet in Lowari Tunnel. Chitral recorded 28 inches of snow. Several areas of Astore received up to 2 feet of snowfall. Snow also covered the mountains of Chilas and Upper Dir.

In Battagram, snowfall closed link roads. In Azad Kashmir’s Neelum Valley, snowfall continued for the third day. Tourist rush increased at the Arang Kel chairlift. Heavy snow blocked access roads to tourist spots.
Muzaffarabad and nearby areas received light drizzle. Balochistan also faced a severe cold wave. Ziarat recorded a minimum temperature of minus four degrees Celsius. Islamabad and Rawalpindi received intermittent rain.
In Lahore, clouds covered the sky. Cold winds increased the chill across the city.
Authorities advised travelers to remain cautious, as snowfall in upper areas continues to affect weather and road conditions.
