Rakhi Sawant slams Bihar Chief Minister over an incident involving a Muslim woman in Bihar. The Bollywood actor and dancer strongly criticized Chief Minister Nitish Kumar for pulling the woman’s veil.
The incident sparked public anger across India. Rakhi Sawant shared a video message on social media. She said she respected Nitish Kumar but questioned his action. She asked how he could do such a thing.
Rakhi said Muslim women wear the veil as part of their faith. She questioned the lack of sense behind the act. Rakhi said leaders cannot give respect on one hand and insult dignity on the other.
She demanded a public apology from the Chief Minister and asked him to hold a press conference. Rakhi also asked him to invite the woman and apologize in front of everyone.
Authorities have registered a case against Nitish Kumar. The case relates to pulling the veil from the woman’s face. The incident happened two days ago.
Political leaders, journalists, and human rights groups condemned the act. They called it shameful and unacceptable. Human rights activist Deepika Pushkar Nath termed it a serious case of sexual harassment.
Former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti also condemned the incident. She called it an insult to women and demanded accountability.
