Rain and Snowfall Forecast in Pakistan: Weather Alert Issued
Rain and snowfall forecast in Pakistan has prompted the Pakistan Meteorological Department to issue a fresh weather advisory for several regions. The department said a new system of western winds has entered the country and will affect the weather in the coming days.
According to the Meteorological Department, this weather system will remain active until January 19. The intensity will increase from January 20. From January 21, it will cover most parts of the country.
Until January 19, Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, and upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will see intermittent rain with strong winds and thunderstorms. These areas may also receive light to moderate snowfall.
The department said Murree, Galiyat, and nearby areas may receive rain and snowfall from January 18 to January 20. From January 20 to January 23, many districts may see rainfall.
These districts include Gilgit-Baltistan, Kashmir, Islamabad, Murree, Galiyat, Potohar region, Sargodha, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sahiwal, Multan, Faisalabad, Dera Ghazi Khan, and Bahawalpur divisions.
Peshawar, Hazara, Malakand, Mardan, Kohat, Bannu, and Dera Ismail Khan divisions may receive rain with strong winds and thunderstorms at many places.

From the night of January 20 to January 23, these areas will receive heavy snowfall: Murree, Galiyat, Chitral, Dir, Swat, Kalam, Shangla, Kohistan, Battagram, Mansehra, Abbottabad, Neelum Valley, Bagh, Haveli, and Rawalakot.
On January 21 and 22, Balochistan may receive intermittent rain with strong winds and thunderstorms, and on January 22 and 23, similar weather is expected in most parts of Sindh.
During this period, Quetta, Ziarat, Chaman, Pishin, Qila Abdullah, Qila Saifullah, Noshki, Harnai, and Zhob may receive moderate to heavy snowfall.
The Meteorological Department advised citizens to stay cautious and follow safety guidelines during the wet spell. Authorities may issue further updates if conditions change due to the rain and snowfall forecast in Pakistan.
