Rafah Crossing Reopens After 2 Years Between Gaza–Egypt
Rafah Crossing reopens after two years as Israel allows limited pedestrian movement between Gaza and Egypt.
Gaza: Israel reopened the Rafah Crossing for foot travel after keeping it closed for two years.
Arab media reported that authorities now allow movement under strict security checks. Officials permit about 150 Palestinians to leave Gaza each day. They also allow 50 Palestinians to enter Gaza daily.
An Israeli security official said European monitoring teams have arrived at the Rafah Crossing. However, authorities still do not allow foreign journalists to enter Gaza.
Israel took control of the Rafah Crossing in May 2024 and closed it for movement at that time.
The reopening of the Rafah Crossing marks a limited step toward restoring movement between Gaza and Egypt.
