Punjab Government Response to Sohail Afridi’s Letter

The Punjab government response came after Sohail Afridi wrote a letter. Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari said that the Chief Minister of Punjab has nothing to do with arranging prisoner meetings in jails. She said the CM never interferes in the work of any government officer.

Uzma Bukhari replied to Sohail Afridi’s letter and said that jail laws do not allow political meetings. She added that the jail superintendent is the final authority inside the jail.

She said that the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) receives meetings two days a week. So far, his lawyers met him 420 times, and his family members met him 189 times.

Uzma Bukhari said that the meetings of Imran Khan’s wife Bushra Bibi’s family are separate. But despite this, a gathering is held outside the jail every week.

She said that before Sohail Afridi tries to teach them the law, he should read the law himself. She added that Sohail Afridi stands with the convicts of May 9 and holds rallies with them. She said he also threatens government officers.
