Punjab Educational Institutions Linked to Safe City System

Punjab educational institutions linked to Safe City system as the provincial government strengthens campus security across the province.

Punjab has connected more than 30,000 educational institutions to the Safe City system. These include schools, colleges, and universities across the province.

Under this system, representatives of educational institutions will update their security status three times a day using a safety application. This step aims to ensure real-time monitoring and faster response.

Officials have made the Virtual Center for Educational Security fully operational. Through this system, authorities can check the security status of public and private institutions with just one click.

So far, 130,000 teachers and security staff from educational institutions have been registered under the project. Installing the Public Safety App is now mandatory for institutional staff.

Authorities stated that in case of any threat or emergency, the system will issue immediate alerts. The process of linking campus CCTV cameras to the Safe City system is also ongoing for live monitoring.

In addition, the installation of panic buttons in educational institutions has entered its final stages. These buttons will help staff report emergencies instantly.

Officials expressed confidence that the Virtual Center for Educational Security will not only protect educational institutions but also assist in the investigation of various incidents.

The government believes this initiative will significantly improve safety standards, making Punjab educational institutions linked to Safe City system more secure and responsive.
