Punjab Educational Institutions Holidays Extended in Winter
Punjab educational institutions holidays extended after the provincial government made a new decision following public consultation.
The Punjab government has decided to extend holidays in educational institutions across the province. The decision came after a public survey conducted by the Punjab Education Department.
The Education Department announced on its official social media pages that it extended the holidays by one week. The department based this decision on public opinion collected through an online survey.
According to the spokesperson of the Punjab Education Department, educational institutions will now reopen on 19 January instead of the earlier date. The authorities took this step after consulting the public.
The spokesperson said the government extended the holidays due to severe weather conditions and concerns about students’ health. Officials considered cold weather risks before making the final decision.
The spokesperson further explained that around 87 percent of participants supported extending the holidays. About 13 percent of respondents preferred reopening schools on 12 January.
The Punjab Education Minister stressed that all district CEOs must ensure strict implementation of this decision in their respective areas.
