Promoting Regional Ties for Collective Development

Promoting regional ties for collective development is essential for the country’s progress, said Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

He said Pakistan plays a vital role in regional connectivity. The country acts as a bridge between South Asia and Central Asia.
Speaking at the Regional Transport Ministers Conference 2025 in Islamabad, he stressed the importance of the transport sector. He added that this sector plays a key role in driving economic growth.

He added that expanding regional ties is necessary for shared development. Pakistan’s highways and railways are strengthening connections among neighboring countries. The government is giving top priority to the improvement of road and rail networks to achieve collective progress.

Dar highlighted that road projects under the CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) are vital for regional integration. A new railway link between Pakistan and Uzbekistan is under discussion. He said Pakistan is determined to boost trade with South and Central Asian countries.

Federal Minister for Transport Aleem Khan said that an efficient transport system is crucial for national development. He added that Pakistan is adopting modern technology in the transport sector to improve efficiency and connectivity.

Talking about CPEC, Aleem Khan said the project helps Pakistan strengthen its trade relations with other countries, promoting both economic and regional growth.

The Regional Transport Ministers Conference 2025 highlighted the importance of improving regional transport systems and strengthening cooperation among countries. Pakistan’s leadership stressed the need for more investment and modernization in the transport sector. This is to pave the way for both national and regional development.

Ishaq Dar reaffirmed that promoting regional ties for collective development will remain Pakistan’s top priority for long-term growth and prosperity.
