A petroleum products price increase may happen in Pakistan as authorities review new pricing data.
Officials shared early estimates. They recorded a small drop in petrol prices. However, they expect diesel and other fuels to become more expensive.
Sources said the petroleum industry sent a working paper to OGRA. Initial calculations show petrol prices may decrease by 36 paisa per liter.
At the same time, officials proposed a Rs9.47 per liter increase in diesel prices. They also recommended a Rs3.45 per liter rise in kerosene oil prices.
They suggested another increase. Light diesel oil prices may go up by Rs7 per liter.

Sources said OGRA will send the final working paper to the government. The government can adjust taxes and petroleum levy after review.
If the government reduces taxes or levy, it may lower the burden on consumers. However, authorities have not made a final decision yet.
The Prime Minister will approve the final summary before officials announce new rates. The situation keeps public attention as a petroleum products price increase remains under consideration.
