Pakistani workers’ salaries and overtime rules in Saudi Arabia have seen a major update. The Bureau of Immigration and Overseas Employment has issued clear guidelines for Pakistani workers in the Kingdom.

The bureau released these instructions to inform overseas Pakistani workers about their rights. The guidelines cover working hours, rest periods, salary, and overtime payments.

According to the bureau, standard working hours in Saudi Arabia remain limited to eight hours per day. The weekly working limit stands at 48 hours.

Workers also have the right to rest during working hours. At the same time, they must follow workplace discipline and rules.

Under the policy, every worker must receive at least one full day off each week. Employers must provide this holiday after six continuous working days.

Friday usually serves as the weekly holiday. However, employers can assign another day if work requirements do not allow a Friday break.

The bureau further clarified overtime rules. Any work beyond eight hours counts as overtime.

Employers must pay overtime at a rate 50 percent higher than the normal wage. These steps aim to protect rights and increase awareness among Pakistani workers in Saudi Arabia.
