Pakistan to Create 30 Million Jobs in 10 Years: WB

Pakistan to create 30 million jobs has become a national economic priority, the World Bank president said.

Ajay Banga stated that Pakistan must generate 30 million jobs over the next decade. He explained that the country needs 2.5 to 3 million new jobs every year to meet demand.

World bank president shared these remarks in an interview with an international news agency. He warned that if young people remain unemployed, the country may face higher unemployment, social unrest, and increased migration.

Ajay Banga dded that the World Bank will continue a $4 billion annual partnership with Pakistan. He stressed that job creation must remain at the center of economic planning.

Banga said the private sector produces 90% of jobs. He urged authorities to support business growth and investment. He highlighted agriculture as a major opportunity, saying the sector can provide one-third of employment.

President described the power sector as the biggest challenge. He said energy losses damage the economy and discourage investors. He called for urgent structural reforms.

Ajay Banga noted that solar energy brings benefits, but officials must strengthen the overall energy system. He also pointed to health, infrastructure, tourism, and agriculture as sectors with strong job potential.

World bank president emphasized that development plans must include climate protection to ensure sustainable progress and long-term employment.

Meeting the target of Pakistan to create 30 million jobs will require policy reforms, private sector expansion, and economic stability.
