Pakistan Saudi Arabia Defence Pact Expansion Decision
Pakistan Saudi Arabia Defence Pact Expansion will move forward only through mutual consultation between both countries, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said on Tuesday.
He spoke to a private TV channel and explained Pakistan’s position clearly. Khawaja Asif said both sides will jointly decide if any other country joins the defence agreement.
Defence Minister Khawaja Asif said Türkiye or another friendly country could become part of this cooperation. He added that the Muslim world should work together to build a strong and unified defence framework.
While talking about Iran, he said Iran is Pakistan’s neighbour and both countries share strong and respectful relations. He said Iran does not pose a threat to any country.
He added that Pakistan supports Iran’s right to remain safe and stable. Asif said the people of Iran are close to Pakistan and relations stand on mutual respect.
The defence minister also spoke about Israel. He said many countries see Israel as a source of security threats.
Separately, sources said US President Donald Trump invited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to join the Board of Peace talks on Gaza.
Pakistan Saudi Arabia Defence Pact Expansion will depend on shared decisions, regional trust, and collective security goals.
