Pakistan-Malaysia Relations: Joint Projects for Growth

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan-Malaysia relations are entering new dimensions. He expressed Pakistan’s wish to learn from Malaysia’s experiences through joint projects.

At a joint press conference with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim in Kuala Lumpur, he thanked the Malaysian leadership for the warm welcome. He called Malaysia Pakistan’s second home and praised Anwar Ibrahim’s role in turning Malaysia into a developed nation.

Focus on Trade and Bilateral Cooperation

Shehbaz Sharif highlighted the positive talks between both countries. Discussions included strengthening bilateral ties, increasing trade, and cooperation on global issues. He welcomed the decision to export halal meat worth 200 million dollars from Pakistan to Malaysia and said the trade will continue to grow.

He also praised Anwar Ibrahim’s book “Script,” calling it a bridge between Islamabad and Kuala Lumpur. He stressed that nations achieve success only through hard work and said Pakistan is eager to benefit from Malaysia’s development experience.

Peace, Students, and Regional Stability

Shehbaz Sharif noted that a large number of Pakistani students are studying in Malaysia. He also discussed the Palestine issue and the Gaza crisis in detail during the talks.

On his request, Shehbaz Sharif recited verses of Allama Iqbal.

Anwar Ibrahim on Regional Peace

Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim said Pakistan and Malaysia have enjoyed brotherly ties since 1957. He stressed the importance of Pakistan-India peace for regional stability and promised full cooperation to fight terrorism. He added that both countries are working together in trade, education, and other sectors.

Anwar also mentioned that their talks covered global and regional issues, including the Palestine crisis. He believed joint efforts for peace would prove successful.

Earlier, Shehbaz Sharif also attended the launch of the Urdu translation of Anwar Ibrahim’s book “Script.”

The visit marked a turning point in Pakistan-Malaysia relations. Both countries agreed to expand trade, education, and cultural ties while working together for peace and development.
