Pakistan International Airlines Privatization Criticism by Hafiz Naeem Rehman
Pakistan International Airlines Privatization Criticism gained momentum as Jamaat-e-Islami chief Hafiz Naeem Rehman strongly opposed the sale of Pakistan International Airlines.
Speaking at a press conference in Karachi, Hafiz Naeem Rehman said the rulers proved their incompetence by selling PIA. He said the government failed to run the national airline and chose to sell it instead.
Hafiz Naeem stated that the government should support the private sector rather than sell national institutions. He added that selling state assets due to poor management is wrong.

Hafiz Naeem Rehman said PIA trained professionals from the UAE, Saudi Arabia, and China. He blamed PML-N, PTI, and PPP for fake recruitments. He said these actions pushed PIA into losses, and stressed that authorities should have fixed responsibility before privatization.
Hafiz Naeem said PIA earned a profit of Rs 10 billion in the last six months. He questioned the sale despite this recovery and dded that only 18 out of 38 aircraft are operational. Hafiz Naeem said one aircraft costs between Rs 80 to 90 billion, yet the airline sold for Rs 135 billion. He called the deal unfair even if bids reached Rs 335 billion.

Hafiz also criticized fake pilot recruitments, and said no one questioned PML-N and PPP for these actions. He said the destruction of PIA harmed national interests, and he rejected the sale of national assets and called it injustice.
On foreign policy, he said Israel and India follow similar approaches, and he said Pakistan must continue to support Palestine. He added that former US President Donald Trump spoke about Kashmir mediation, but no action followed. Hafiz also opposed accepting restrictions under IMF conditions.
Hafiz Naeem Rehman concluded that asset sell-offs, political incompetence, and mismanagement are unacceptable. He urged the nation to move forward for systemic change. Pakistan International Airlines privatization criticism remains central to the public debate.
