No law needed to send US army back to Venezuela, said former US President Donald Trump during an interview with American media.
Donald Trump said the United States is not at war with Venezuela. He also clarified that Venezuela will not hold new elections in the next 30 days.
Trump said the US cannot conduct elections immediately. He explained that people cannot vote right now. He said the country must stabilize first, and that process will take time.
He said no law needed to send US army back to Venezuela. He added that the US will help oil companies revive Venezuela’s energy sector. He said this work will require heavy investment.
Trump said such projects may take at least 18 months to complete. He stated that the US will play a long-term role in Venezuela. He added that future actions will move forward step by step.

Trump said the US is not fighting Venezuela. He said the real fight is against drug traffickers. He also mentioned groups that send prisoners, drug addicts, and mentally ill people into the US.
During the interview, Trump said the US has formed a special team to oversee Venezuela-related matters. The team includes Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, along with other officials.
In a related development, the UN Secretary-General called the US action against Venezuela a violation of international law.
Meanwhile, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro rejected allegations in a US court. He said he was kidnapped and insisted that he is still the president of Venezuela.
