Mamdani’s team said almost all departments are accepting applications and the hiring process will focus on merit and transparency. It aims to offer equal chances to all skilled candidates, who can apply through the official transition website.

Each applicant must include a short statement and resume and explain how they support Mamdani’s vision for an affordable New York. The review process will happen in phases and final appointments will be completed before his oath-taking in January 2026.

Transition Executive Director Elena Leopold said they are looking for talented people from across the city. And the goal is to create a New York that is livable, inclusive, and fair for every resident.

She further noted that the online portal ensures transparency and helps the new administration fulfill its promises to the public.

Mamdani’s transition team includes several well-known figures such as Elena Leopold, Maria Torres Springer, Grace Bonilla, Lina Khan, and Melanie Herzog.

This initiative reflects Mamdani’s commitment to building a city where merit, fairness, and participation, which create equal chances for everyone and only New York residents are eligible to apply for these roles.
