New Year Aerial Firing in Karachi Injures 19 People
New Year aerial firing in Karachi injured 19 people in different parts of the city, police said on Wednesday.
The injured include two young girls and three women. The incidents happened during New Year celebrations when people opened fire into the air.
Police said they arrested 30 people involved in aerial firing during operations in several areas.
Rescue officials reported injuries in Korangi, Golimar, Five Star, New Sabzi Mandi, and nearby localities. Victims received medical treatment at nearby hospitals.

Similar incidents occurred in other cities. In Hyderabad, aerial firing injured four people. In Nawabshah, two people also suffered injuries.
Earlier, the Sindh Home Department issued a notification. It banned weapon display and aerial firing in Karachi on New Year’s Eve.
Police decided to use drone cameras to identify offenders. They flew drones over Liaquatabad, Sharifabad, Azizabad, Nazimabad, and other areas.
Police officials said they will register cases after recording videos of those involved in aerial firing. Authorities provided drone cameras to more than 16 police stations.
Police urged citizens to celebrate responsibly and avoid dangerous activities.
