National Airline Privatization First Phase Completed
National airline privatization first phase completed as the government successfully ends the initial bidding stage.
Three pre-qualified bidders submit their bids to purchase the national airline. Authorities plan to open the bids at 3:30 pm. The Privatization Commission Board will meet to set the reference price.
After officials finalize the reference price, the Cabinet Committee on Privatization will review and approve it. This approval will move the process to the next stage.
Privatization Adviser Muhammad Ali speaks to journalists after the first phase ends. He confirms that the bidding process moves forward smoothly. He says the Privatization Commission Board will review the reserve price next.
He adds that no one knows the reserve price at this stage. The board will approve it first. After that, the case will go to the Cabinet Committee for final approval.
The adviser calls this a major milestone. He says Pakistan has not completed a large privatization deal in the last 20 years.
National airline privatization first phase completed marks a key step toward restructuring the aviation sector and attracting private investment.
