NADRA Bug Bounty Challenge has officially started in Pakistan. It is the country’s first-ever bug bounty competition to improve cyber security standards.

NADRA, also known as the National Database and Registration Authority, has organized this event in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC) and the National Cyber Emergency Response Team.

Students and cyber security experts are taking part in the competition in team form. Organizers allow participants to find security weaknesses in systems. They also analyze these vulnerabilities in a controlled environment.

Officials say the main goal of the challenge is to promote modern cyber security skills. The initiative also aims to strengthen public trust in Pakistan’s national digital identity system.

Regional-level competitions start on January 27. Events are taking place in several cities. These cities include Swabi, Islamabad, Lahore, Karachi, and Quetta.

Experts believe such competitions help young professionals gain hands-on experience. They also help institutions improve their security systems before real threats appear.

NADRA will hold the closing ceremony of the Bug Bounty Challenge 2026 at its headquarters in Islamabad. Organizers will announce the final date later.

This initiative marks a major step for Pakistan’s cyber ecosystem. The NADRA Bug Bounty Challenge supports skill development and strengthens national cyber defenses.
