Meta Acquires Manus AI Chatbot to Expand AI Strategy

According to Reuters, Meta announced the acquisition of Manus, a Singapore-based AI company. The move comes at a time of intense competition in the tech industry. Meta plans to integrate this technology into its consumer and business products.

Manus develops a general-purpose AI agent. It works like a digital employee. It can handle research, automation, and complex tasks with minimal instructions. The AI agent also supports market analysis, coding, and data analysis. Experts rate its performance higher than OpenAI’s deep research tools.

The company recently reported an annual revenue of 125 million dollars. Meta did not disclose the financial terms of the deal. However, Meta will operate, sell, and integrate Manus services into Meta AI and other products.

Manus was previously linked to Beijing-based Butterfly Effect Technology. The company moved from China to Singapore to reduce geopolitical risks. It will now fully separate from China. Manus also raised 75 million dollars in funding earlier this year.

Meta earlier invested 29 billion dollars in Scale AI and hired its CEO to accelerate AI development. Under Mark Zuckerberg’s leadership, artificial intelligence has become Meta’s top priority. Meta acquires Manus AI chatbot to gain immediate business advantages and reach a massive global user base.
