The MDCAT admission policy change has been announced for medical colleges across Pakistan. The new policy will apply from next year and aims to support students.
The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has decided to revise the admission process. This decision focuses on making the system fair and reducing pressure on students.
Authorities have changed the MDCAT exam schedule. Students will now take the test just six days after their FSC exams.
Previously, the MDCAT exam took place four to six months after FSC exams. This long gap created problems for many students.

Federal Health Minister Mustafa Kamal said the government made this decision on the Prime Minister’s special instructions. The goal is to reduce the influence of the academy system.
He explained that coaching centers charged high fees during the long gap between exams. Many families could not afford these expenses.
The minister added that wealthy students could easily pay for expensive tuition. However, students from middle-class families faced difficulties.
The new policy will reduce this gap. Students will now prepare once and appear in exams without long delays.
Officials confirmed that the new system will start with upcoming intermediate exams. Students will no longer need to prepare separately for months.
This step will simplify the admission process and reduce financial burden.
The MDCAT admission policy change marks a major reform in Pakistan’s education system. It aims to create equal opportunities and reduce unnecessary pressure on students.
