Lahore Court Rejected Ducky Bhai’s Bail in Gambling App Case

Pakistani YouTuber Saad ur Rehman, widely known as Ducky Bhai, continues to face legal trouble. A Lahore court rejected Ducky Bhai’s bail in a high-profile case related to the promotion of gambling apps.

Court Dismisses Bail Request

On September 23, Judicial Magistrate Naeem Wattoo announced the decision in a three-page written order. The court ruled that an influencer with millions of young followers must act responsibly. Any mistake from such a figure, it said, can cause widespread harm to society.

The order also noted that Ducky Bhai never denied promoting gambling apps. During investigations, authorities recovered $326,420 from him. His defense team failed to prove that the money did not come from a gambling company or to provide any alternate explanation of its source.

Defense Claims Case is False

Ducky Bhai’s lawyer, Advocate Chaudhry Usman Ali, argued that the case was false, baseless, and politically motivated. He maintained that investigators filed the case with the aim of damaging the YouTuber’s reputation.

The lawyer also claimed that no notice was served to his client during the inquiry. He further pointed out that no victim had come forward to show they suffered a financial loss due to the promotions.

According to the defense, the gambling apps Ducky Bhai promoted had not yet been declared illegal by the government at that time. The lawyer added that the FIR sections applied — 294-B and 420 of the Pakistan Penal Code — are bailable offenses.

He emphasized that Ducky Bhai had no prior criminal record, no intention of fleeing the country, and was willing to submit surety bonds if granted bail.

FIA’s Argument Against Bail

On the other side, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) maintained a strict stance. It argued that Ducky Bhai played a major role in promoting gambling apps that encouraged young people to take part in online betting.

The FIA said such activities not only pushed people toward gambling but also caused significant financial losses to users, especially the youth who follow social media influencers closely.

Arrest and Detention Timeline

The case dates back to 17 August 2025, when authorities arrested Ducky Bhai for promoting gambling apps. The National Crime Agency Lahore filed the case on behalf of the state.

Following his arrest, the court extended his physical remand six times before sending him to jail on a 14-day judicial remand. His defense team then moved for bail under Section 497 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, but the court dismissed the plea.

This ruling means the YouTuber will remain in custody while investigations continue.

Public Interest and Influence

Ducky Bhai is one of Pakistan’s most popular YouTubers, with millions of subscribers and followers across platforms. His online presence, comedy videos, and vlogs have made him a household name, particularly among the younger generation.

Because of his influence, the case has attracted major media attention. Legal experts suggest that the ruling shows how courts now expect social media influencers to act responsibly when promoting products or apps.

Broader Concerns on Gambling Apps

The controversy also highlights growing concerns about the rise of online gambling platforms in Pakistan. Regulators and digital watchdogs have repeatedly warned that such apps encourage addiction, quick-money traps, and financial fraud.

In this case, the court gave weight to the argument that influencers promoting gambling apps can mislead large audiences, leading to serious social and financial damage.

What Happens Next?

For now, Ducky Bhai remains in jail as the lahore court rejected Ducky Bhai’s bail and the case progresses. His legal team may appeal the decision in a higher court, but no official announcement has been made yet.

Observers believe the outcome of this case could set an important precedent for how Pakistan deals with cases involving social media influencers and digital promotions in the future.
