ISIS commander killed in Karak police encounter during a late-night operation. He was accused of planning a failed suicide attack on JUI-F chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
According to sources, the ISIS-K (Islamic State Khorasan) commander, Nisar Hakeem, died in a police encounter in Karak district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police launched the raid after receiving secret information. They surrounded a hideout in Amberi village, where a gun battle broke out. During the exchange of fire, Nisar Hakeem was killed.
The clash continued for almost four hours. Four police officers also got injured during the operation.
Officials confirmed that Nisar Hakeem had planned the failed suicide attack targeting Maulana Fazlur Rehman.
Karak district remains under close watch by security and intelligence agencies. It is known as one of the key areas used by the ISIS-K network for operations and recruitment.
In the end, this successful operation once again showed that law enforcement remains active against ISIS commanders in Karak to ensure peace and security in the region.
