Interior Minister inaugurates SHUKRA monitoring system to improve passport services across Pakistan.
Mohsin Naqvi visited the Directorate General of Immigration and Passports. He inaugurated the latest SHUKRA monitoring system during the visit.
The department activated a 24/7 monitoring room and a call center. The government also digitized the emergency travel document system on the minister’s instructions.
Officials briefed the minister on the Secure Hybrid Intelligence for Knowledge-Based Response Analytics system. Mohsin Naqvi praised the DG Immigration and Passports and his team for their performance.
The new system allows real-time monitoring of passport applications and delivery. Authorities can track every stage, from application to final delivery.
The minister said the goal is to provide fast, secure, and world-class services to citizens. He added that the new monitoring system will further improve departmental performance.
Mohsin Naqvi said Pakistan upgraded passport security features to meet ICAO standards. He noted that modern German automatic machines increased operational capacity.
He said automated printing removed human intervention from the process. Officials also explained that the system will automatically identify crowding at passport offices.
