Indonesia Landslide Deaths Rise to 16, Around 80 Still Missing”

Indonesia landslide deaths reached 16 after a deadly landslide hit Java province, officials confirmed on Sunday. Around 80 people, including 23 soldiers, are still missing in the affected areas.

The incident occurred in West Java after heavy rainfall triggered large-scale landslides. Rescue teams continued search and relief operations despite difficult conditions.

Auhorities said the landslide damaged at least 30 houses. Nearly 400 residents lost their homes and moved to safer locations. Emergency shelters provided basic facilities to displaced families.

Local officials warned that heavy rains may continue until February 6. They asked residents living near hillsides to stay alert and avoid high-risk zones.

Earlier, police in the Cisarua district of West Bandung Regency reported the recovery of seven bodies by Saturday noon. Officials feared that many people remained trapped under debris.

Joint search and rescue teams are working round the clock. Authorities said unstable soil may cause further landslides. They urged people to follow safety instructions and cooperate with rescue teams.

Rescue efforts will continue until officials account for all missing persons. Indonesia landslide deaths remain a major concern as weather conditions stay unpredictable.
