India Catches Pigeon on LoC Over Spying Allegations
India catches pigeon on LoC over spying allegations, Indian media reported on Saturday.
Indian authorities caught a pigeon near the Line of Control (LoC) on charges of spying. The incident took place close to the Akhnoor sector in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service (KMS), a local boy spotted the pigeon and found it suspicious. He later captured the bird near the LoC area.
Reports said the pigeon had stamps on its wings. It also wore red and yellow rings on both legs. The rings carried the names “Rehmat Sarkar,” “Rizwan 2025,” and some numbers.
Local residents handed the pigeon over to the police. Indian authorities then decided to send the bird to security agencies for further investigation.
In the past, Indian forces have also detained balloons and birds on spying charges. Analysts say such incidents show panic within Indian forces stationed along the LoC.
