Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge: World’s Tallest Bridge Opens in China

China has opened the world’s tallest bridge, the Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge, in Guizhou province. Standing at nearly 2,050 feet (625 meters) above a river, the bridge is now a global landmark in engineering.

Reports from CGTN and BBC confirm that the bridge connects two mountain regions. It has reduced travel time from two hours to just two minutes.

The bridge offers more than just transportation. With its glass skywalk, high-rise restaurant, and bungee jumping facilities, it has become a major tourist attraction.

According to Chinese officials, the project finished in less than four years. The bridge stretches 4,600 feet, making it twice as tall as America’s famous Royal Gorge Bridge.

Zhang Yin, head of Guizhou’s Transport Department, said the bridge will improve travel and bring new energy to the economy. NBC News reported that it stands 1,100 feet higher than the tallest bridge in the U.S. Experts see it as a symbol of China’s engineering excellence and fast technological progress.

Videos of the bridge have gone viral on social media. Users praised China’s speed and skills, comparing it to slower projects in the West. One comment read, “This is not just a bridge, it is a statement that the future now rises from Asia, not the West.”

Another user noted, “China built the tallest bridge in just four years, while it took New York 65 years to open one subway line.” Others joked that if the project had been in the UK or U.S., it might never have finished.

Global experts admire the bridge’s design, while debates continue about how Western countries can match China’s pace.

The Huajiang Grand Canyon Bridge proves how China is setting new standards in modern engineering. It has become a symbol of Asia’s rising future.
