Gul Plaza Tragedy: President, PM Offer Full Support

President Asif Ali Zardari directed the Sindh government to use all available resources for rescue and relief work. He emphasized the need for swift action to control the situation and support the victims.

The president praised the bravery of martyred firefighter Farqan Shaukat. He recommended him for a civil award. He also instructed authorities to ensure proper medical care for the injured and immediate rehabilitation of damaged homes.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also expressed deep sorrow over the Gul Plaza tragedy during his call. He offered full support from the federal government.
The prime minister said the federal government stood with the victims and the Sindh government in this difficult time. He assured all possible help to manage the crisis and reduce losses.
Meanwhile, officials said firefighters controlled about 80 percent of the blaze. Rescue teams continued a limited search operation inside the burned shops in Karachi.
Reports revealed that Gul Plaza lacked proper emergency exits and fire safety arrangements. Authorities continued investigations into the causes and safety failures.
