Gul Plaza Fire in Karachi Claims Lives, Causes Massive Loss

Gul Plaza fire has caused massive loss of life and property on MA Jinnah Road in Karachi. A deadly fire broke out late at night at the famous Gul Plaza shopping center and firefighters have not fully controlled it yet.

The Gul Plaza fire has turned the city atmosphere sorrowful. The blaze killed five people and injured more than 20 others. Traders suffered losses worth billions of rupees due to the incident.

Fire brigade officials said they have controlled only 40 percent of the fire so far. The flames remain intense and dangerous. Gul Plaza has more than 1,000 shops, which makes the rescue work more difficult.

Officials declared the building highly unsafe. Deep cracks appeared in the structure due to the fire. Authorities fear further collapse and have restricted access to the area.

As fear increased, traders gathered outside Gul Plaza and started giving loud Azaan. The sound echoed across the area and filled the surroundings with grief and pain. People stood helpless, with tears in their eyes.

Governor Sindh, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Mustafa Kamal, the Sindh Chief Minister, and other political and social leaders expressed deep sorrow. They offered condolences to the families of the victims and prayed for the quick recovery of the injured.

The Gul Plaza fire remains one of the most tragic incidents on MA Jinnah Road. Rescue teams continue their efforts as authorities assess the damage and risks.
