Google Warns 40% of Android Phones at Risk

Google has announced that 40% of Android phones worldwide are at risk of new cyberattacks.

The company confirmed that phones running Android 12 or older cannot handle these attacks. Only 58% of devices still receive security support from Google.

Recent data shows the latest Android 16 is on just 7.5% of phones. Android 15 runs on 19.3%, Android 14 on 17.9%, and Android 13 on 13.9%.

These versions are critical because Google no longer provides security updates for Android 12 or earlier. Over 40% of phones remain unsupported and vulnerable.
