Global Solidarity Flotilla Activists Reach Istanbul

A group of 137 Global Solidarity Flotilla activists has reached Istanbul after being released from Israeli custody. Among them are 36 Turkish nationals and activists from the United States, the United Kingdom, Italy, Jordan, Kuwait, Libya, Algeria, Mauritania, Malaysia, Bahrain, Morocco, Switzerland, and Tunisia.

Arab media reported that around 450 activists from the Global Solidarity Flotilla are still in Israeli detention. Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed and several other Pakistani citizens remain among those detained.

Despite Israeli aggression, another flotilla carrying humanitarian aid has set sail toward Gaza. International peace activists are onboard, continuing their mission to deliver aid to those in need.

Upon arrival in Istanbul, Turkish journalist Ersan Celik revealed shocking details about the detainees’ treatment. He stated that Israeli forces tortured several volunteers of the Global Solidarity Flotilla. Celik claimed that Greta Thunberg was also beaten and forced to kiss the Israeli flag, despite being a minor.

Meanwhile, protests in support of the Gaza Flotilla continue in Pakistan and several other countries. Demonstrators are condemning Israeli actions and demanding the immediate release of detained activists.

The flotilla departed from Spain on August 31, with vessels from multiple countries joining the mission. Israeli naval forces intercepted the convoy nearly 70 nautical miles off the Palestinian coast, stopping it before it could reach Gaza.

Supporters of the Global Solidarity Flotilla activists around the world continue to call for justice, freedom for the detained members, and an end to violence against humanitarian workers.
