Gaza Ceasefire: Hamas Offers to Hand Over Weapons

Gaza ceasefire remains the main topic as Hamas makes a new offer for peace. Hamas says it will give its weapons to the Palestinian Authority if Israeli forces leave Gaza completely.

Khalil Al-Hayya, the head of the Hamas negotiation team, said that their weapons exist only because of occupation and violence. He said that if the occupation ends, Hamas will place all weapons under state control.

His office also explained that he spoke about a free and fully independent Palestinian state.

Hamas negotiators said they accept UN forces on the borders to monitor the area and ensure the ceasefire. But they will not accept any international force whose goal is to disarm Hamas.

Qatar’s Prime Minister added that the two-month-old truce will not become complete until Israeli forces leave Gaza as agreed in the peace plan.

Egypt also announced that it will train 5,000 police officers for Gaza. Egypt is one of the countries expected to join the stability force for the region.

On the other side, Israel continues to violate the truce. In the latest attacks, Israeli forces killed 7 more Palestinians. Since the 11 October 2025 ceasefire agreement, Israel has killed 367 Palestinians.

Two days ago, the UN Secretary-General António Guterres said that evidence shows Israel has committed war crimes in Gaza.

Since October 2023, more than 70,000 Palestinians have been killed and over 120,000 injured in Israeli attacks.

This situation shows how important the Gaza ceasefire is for peace and safety in the region.
