First Solar Eclipse 2026 on 17 February

First Solar Eclipse 2026 will take place on 17 February, but people in Pakistan and most Asian countries will not see it.

Astronomers confirmed that the eclipse will appear only in remote parts of Antarctica. According to a report by Space.com, the Moon will move directly in front of the Sun during its elliptical orbit.

The Moon will not fully cover the Sun. As a result, sunlight will form a bright red glow around the Moon. The Sun will look like a burning ball in the sky.

How the Eclipse Will Appear?

During the main phase, the Moon’s shadow will spread across the Sun. The sky will become slightly darker.

At one stage, viewers will see a “Ring of Fire.” This happens when the Moon stands exactly in front of the Sun, but its size does not fully block sunlight. A golden ring will shine around the Moon.

This phase will continue for nearly two hours in parts of Antarctica. After that, the golden ring will slowly fade.

In the final stage, the Moon will move away from the Sun. The Sun will then return to its normal bright shape.

Safety Warning

Experts warned people not to look at the eclipse directly. Direct viewing can damage eyesight. Anyone who wants to observe it must use special eclipse glasses or a certified solar filter.

Blood Moon in March

About two weeks later, on 3 March, the Moon will appear red in the sky. People call this event a “Blood Moon.”

This will be the first Blood Moon of the year. It will be visible in North America, East Asia, and Australia.

Astronomy experts say sky watchers should mark both dates. However, Pakistan will not witness the First Solar Eclipse 2026 this time.
