First Ramadan in Pakistan Expected on 19 February 2026
First Ramadan in Pakistan is expected on 19 February 2026. The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has issued an early forecast about the start of Ramadan 1447 Hijri.
PMD says the Ramadan moon will be born on 17 February at 5:01 PM. This timing improves the chances of moon sighting the next evening.
Officials state that people will likely see the crescent moon on 18 February across many parts of the country. As a result, Muslims in Pakistan may begin Ramadan on 19 February.
PMD shared more details about visibility. In Karachi, the moon’s age will reach about 26 hours by the evening of 18 February. This age makes the crescent easier to see.
Sunset in Karachi will occur at 6:25 PM, while the moon will set at 7:24 PM. This time gap increases the chances of clear sighting.

Authorities will still wait for official confirmation from the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee. However, the weather department’s data strongly supports this prediction.
People across the country have started preparing for the holy month. Markets have already seen increased activity as families plan for Ramadan.
Experts say weather conditions also play an important role. Clear skies can further support moon visibility in several regions.
Scientific calculations suggest that First Ramadan in Pakistan will most likely fall on 19 February 2026, pending final moon sighting confirmation.
