Federal Educational Institutions Holidays Announced in Islamabad

The government has announced Federal educational institutions holidays in Islamabad from March 16 to March 31. Authorities took this step under a national austerity and fuel-saving campaign.

The Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) issued an official notification about the decision. The notification confirmed that all federal educational institutions in Islamabad will remain closed during this period.

Officials said the government made this decision to reduce expenses and save fuel. The policy is part of broader measures to manage energy use in the country.

However, authorities clarified that all examination activities will continue as scheduled. Students will follow the same exam timetable without any changes.

The notification also instructed universities to shift all BS program classes to online learning immediately. This step will allow academic activities to continue without interruption.

In addition, 50 percent of the administrative staff will work from home during the closure period. The remaining staff will manage essential operations at institutions.

The decision applies to all federal government schools and colleges in Islamabad.

Officials believe these temporary measures will help the government implement its austerity plan while keeping academic activities running.
