The Federal Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (FBISE) has announced the results of the Class 11 (HSSC-I) annual exams 2024. A total of 92,400 students appeared, with 54,316 passing, making the overall pass rate 58.75%. The board also reported that 857 results were withheld due to documentation issues, while nine cases of cheating were identified.
Performance varied across groups. In Pre-Medical, 72.21% of students passed, with girls performing better than boys. Pre-Engineering recorded a pass rate of 65.89%, while Humanities stood at 60.19%, again showing stronger results for female students. The Commerce group had a much lower pass percentage of 27.19%, and the Science General group saw only 7.6% pass.
Subject-wise, compulsory papers like Urdu and English had over 97% success rates, while sciences such as Physics, Chemistry, and Biology also showed healthy results. Despite fewer enrollments, arts subjects like Islamic Studies and Education had strong outcomes. Overall, female students outperformed male candidates across almost every group. Candidates can apply for the second annual exam if they wish to improve their grades.
