People in Islamabad and several areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa felt strong earthquake tremors on Friday evening.
According to the Seismological Center, the earthquake had a magnitude of 5.6 and struck Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Peshawar, Swat, Lower Dir, and Chitral. The quake’s depth was recorded at 120 kilometers.

The center said the epicenter of the earthquake was in the Hindu Kush region of Afghanistan.
Soon after the tremors, fear and panic spread among the people. Many residents recited prayers and rushed out of their homes. However, no reports of casualties or property damage were received.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely.
The earthquake tremors in Islamabad and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa reminded citizens to stay alert and follow safety measures during such natural events.
