China-Pakistan Satellite Connectivity Partnership Deal
Satellite connectivity partnership moves forward as a Chinese space company and a Pakistani operator sign a major agreement.
China’s commercial space firm Geespace signs a cooperation agreement with Pakistan’s satellite communication operator, Paksat International. Both sides aim to expand satellite-based connectivity services in Pakistan and nearby regions.
Paksat says this partnership will strengthen Pakistan’s digital infrastructure. It will improve connectivity in remote and underserved areas. It will also support the region’s fast-growing digital economy.
Geespace states that the cooperation will cover policy coordination, technical collaboration, and market development. The focus will remain on the company’s Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite IoT network, known as Geesatcom. The company plans to introduce this network in Pakistan and surrounding areas.
Under the agreement, Paksat will assist in handling policy matters for commercial operations in Pakistan. The company will also support spectrum coordination and help meet legal and regulatory requirements. Both parties will also explore cooperation in network access, service integration, and marketing.
Geespace CEO Wang Yang says the company will provide all-weather, high-reliability satellite communication services. He adds that these services will help cover connectivity gaps in hard-to-reach areas. They will also support industrial digitalization and improve inter-regional communication links.
This satellite connectivity partnership marks a key step toward better digital access and stronger communication infrastructure in Pakistan.
