Protests started in Dhaka and quickly spread to other cities. Angry demonstrators came out on the streets. They set fire to the offices of the Awami League and several media organizations. They also damaged property and blocked major roads.

Reports also said protesters burned the residence of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in Rajshahi. Officials tightened security in sensitive areas to control the unrest.
Sharif Usman Hadi was a key leader of the student movement that helped remove the Hasina Wajed government in July. He also served as the spokesperson for Inqilab Mancha, a political platform formed by student leaders.
Unknown attackers shot Hadi in Dhaka last Friday and seriously injured him. Doctors performed surgery and later shifted him to Singapore for advanced treatment. He died during treatment on Thursday.
Bangladeshi authorities identified the main suspect as Faisal Karim Masood. They identified the motorcycle rider as Alamgir Sheikh. Officials said both suspects illegally entered Bangladesh from India and later fled back to India.
The government continues investigations as Bangladesh’s violent protests against India remain active in several regions.
